Pubget: Another way to search PubMed

Pubget is a new way to search PubMed designed to connect the searcher to a full-text PDF document as quickly as possible. If the PDF of the article is available through the library’s collection, the document for the active citation is displayed in the same window on the right of the search results. Pubget is a website available to all, but has been set up connect our users with our collection if they are on campus or access Pubget through the Biomedical Library website at biomedicallibrary.southalabama.edu/pubget.

The search interface for Pubget is simply a single search box on the front page. It is impossible to form searches as detailed as those possible through the PubMed or OVID MEDLINE interfaces, but after the initial search, an Advance Search Option appears above the results that allows for searching by publication, author, PMID, MESH terms, and most other MEDLINE variables. The search results page also allows for sorting, only viewing results with available PDFs, downloading all PDFs, and limiting to review articles.

This search engine is not a resource provided by the library. While it is free to use, it is supported by advertising and will have premium accounts available in the future with added functionality and no ads.You can try Pubget at southalabama.pubget.com.
